Corvette Stingray 1966 Coupe, the body was manufactured at the GM A.O Smith plant on the 1st of June 1966. The car was finished in Silver Pearl Metallic with black interior and left the factory as a 300hp, 327 V8 car with a 2-speed power glide automatic transmission. The car is packed full of options and would have to be one of the highest optioned C2s we have seen, car was imported to Australia from Illinois in 2012.
The body of the car has been repainted in a deep red colour at some stage in the US, the shape of these C2 Corvettes are absolutely iconic with pop up lights, long bonnet, boat tail rear end and wrap around rear window, there are a few minor modifications to the body that was typical of what guys were doing back in the day which include slightly radiused rear guards, a triple tail light conversion and a 67 model reverse light, the car sits on a set of 15″ GM rally wheels with white lettered tyres.
The interior is completely factory in presentation with the factory seats retaining their black trim, it should be noted that the base of the seats are coming apart at the seams which you might not pick up in the pictures, under the bonnet lives the original, matching numbers, 327 V8 engine rated at 300hp, and the power steering makes for a nice driving experience, this 2nd Generation Corvettes are great collector American sports cars and one of the best looking body styles of all time, I’m sure you could picture this Stingray parked in your garage.
