Holden HQ Monaro GTS 5/1974 Silver / orange strips, 350 Chev, 3 speed automatic transmission and a Salisbury 10 bolt rear end with 3.08 ratio. This car we brought as is, in the white colour, with roll cage, drop tank, triple rear light bumper bar, race seats, Etc. It was a real 80’s cruiser. Same owner for more than 40 years, he was the second owner, and in his 20’s at the time. Back then the cars where just not worth that much, so customising them was the thing to do. The ID tags have never been of the car, And the second owner Blow up the factory 308, and replaced it with the 350 chevy 4 bolt main crate motor from Kavanagh Auto Parts, in the USA direct, back in 1989. Then Being from the USA, the block had no numbers, so the second owner took the car to Vic Roads in Carlton to get the motor stamped on the LHS head, and they guys from Vic Roads decided to re-stamp the chassis rail as the factory chassis numbers where hard to see, so they X-ed out the original and re-stamped new numbers. The original number are still there. The Second owner brought the car from Four Star Motors in Reservoir in November 1981 and sold it in 2023.
Note. DPC is undergoing a full rebuild, full rotisserie, no expense spared, putting it back to Original, bar motor and gear box, we will keep the chevy in it, but we will rebuild the motor and box also. The trim is getting a full make over front to back and top to bottom, And everything in-between. We are trying to use all original parts when we can.
